Loving brother of Carol Michael (Barrie) of Beaumont, AB, Brad Poapst (Christine Booma) of Paris, FR, Cathy Dubeau (late Luc), Ian Poapst (Janice) both of Cornwall and of Mary Frances “Francy” Poapst of Peterborough, ON.
Gordie will be missed by his many nieces, nephew’s friends and extended family members.
He was a dedicated member of R.C.A.F.A. Wing 424 (Royal Canadian Air Force Association Wing 424) and longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 Cornwall.
Predeceased by his parents Douglas “Doug” and Hazel (née Russell) Poapst and his sisters Lorna, Beverly and baby Jane.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Arrangements have been entrusted to M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street, (613) 938-1039 across from City Hall.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada, would be appreciated by the family.
