It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Kathleen Eliza Perminda Filion (née Gates) at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023 at the age of 85 years old.
Loving wife of the late Maurice Filion; cherished mother of Renald Filion (Esther), Cathy Gadbois (Allan) and Richard Filion (Louise); treasured grandmother of Lisa Filion, Bradly Filion, Daniel Gadbois, Sharina Filion, Alayna Filion (Mat Bergeron), Tyler Filion (Marisa) and Robine St-Germain (Denis); and devoted great grandmother of 14. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Sherwin Marsolais (late Francis) and Gail Moise (Gerald).
Kathleen is predeceased by her parents Eartley Gates and Vesta Victoria “Gladys” Gates (née Froats); her brothers, Harry Gates and Clayton Gates; her sisters Alda Ferguson-Blue (late Gerry), Eileen Alguire (late Arlen) and Shirley Brockett (late Ronald); as well as her grandson Cory Gadbois.
Kathleen will be fondly remembered for her love of baking, knitting and gardening, but most of all for her love of spending time with her family.
In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH, 20 SEVENTH STREET CORNWALL, ON.
