AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Keith Christie
23 mars 1949 – 4 janvier 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Keith on Monday, January 4, 2021 at age 71. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Avis (née Broome), his son Ian (Kirsten), brothers Archie and Jack, and sister Charlene Pruner (née Christie) as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends. He will be sadly missed by family and close friends. Predeceased by his father Archie Albert Christie and his mother Rita (nee Duhaime). Cremation has taken place. Spring internment at Woodlawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the OSPCA of SD&G would be greatly appreciated.
Keith was a well-respected auto-mechanic in the area for many years but he is probably best known for his devotion to family and lasting friendships; his love of animals in general but most especially dogs and horses; providing a lending hand whenever needed; and, having a fondness for merriment. He loved the outdoors and winter weather in particular; so, it is not surprising that he enjoyed snowmobiling until he was sidelined by an unrelated injury.

Family and friends of Keith Christie: He was one of a kind, known for his kindness & love of those around him, he would do anything for a friend as well as a stranger, with respect for everyone. He had a great love for Silicone spray, which he would do to floors, skidoo seats as well as steering wheels, etc, then wait & see who his victims were, there was always such fun to be in this crowd of people, I offer my love & respect to Avis, Ian and brothers, You never need to be alone, Bev &Alva Grant and families xxx

Uncle Keith, thank you for always being there for us. Growing up, always loved visiting with Mom and Amanda. You guys would always give us spare change to run next door to get penny candies. I also remember the Ice Storm. You guys took us in while the power was out (especially remember the amazing BBQ food, as all the frozen meat had to be cooked). We spent quite a bit of time visiting you, Aunt Avis, and Ian, and always looked forward to it. You are greatly missed by all of us.

Keith will me deeply missed by his wife, son, brothers, sister and friends.
He was always there when needed and gave his opinion whether wanted or not.
He loved dogs and horses to no end.
He has left a void that will be hard to fill.
Keith is better off since he crossed over (as we say in the Navy). He now has the quality of life he so deserved that he didn't have before. It was hard on him not being active the way he was used to being. Rest in peace brother knowing you will be missed.

Dear Avis and Ian . Archie and Jack and family I am sorry to each of you on the earthly passing of Keith .I was so happy to reconnect with Keith at the coffee shop and breakfast at Vera Lunch he picked up where he left off teasing me for talking so much . I remember Avis how when you started to say something Keith always said "Is this going to take long " It is these memories and many others that will keep us going in the days to come . It is strange but during the Christmas holiday I said a few times to my kids that I should call you folks . with love Marilyn ,Shelley , Devin

Besides being one of my brother Eddy’s best friends, I also have an even more special memory of Keith to share.
For years and years, Keith would call on my parents, Buster and Trudy Levy each week, every two weeks at the outside , at their apartment on Bedford Street. His morning visits for coffee, a chat, and an oatmeal cookie meant the world to them. It was great to see Keith when I happened to be home visiting during one of his visits. He could make us all laugh with a joke or by teasing Gert about making him gain weight with her baking. He was so good natured, kind and loyal.
Avis, Ian and to all of Keith’s family, I send my deepest sympathy for your loss, and my thanks for your having shared him with all of us while he was here.
