Loretta Marie Corine (Taillon) Besner

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Loretta Marie Corine Besner (née Taillon) surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre in Cornwall, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the age of 96 years.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond Besner. Loving mother of Robert Besner (Wendy), Vivianne Langford (Randy), Suzanne Blair (Jonathan), Claude Besner, Carole McKee (Danny), Raymond Besner (Patricia) and Jean-Guy Besner (Angela).

Treasured grandmother of Shawn Besner (Yvette), Jason Besner (Magdalena Kulczyna), Angèle Barrington (Russell), Karen Langford, Jennifer Haley (Gary), Melissa Major, Alexandra Besner (Matt Girgis), Shane Besner, Bridget Michaud-Besner (Erik Trudell), Spencer Besner, and Geneviève Ryan (Patrick). Cherished great-grandmother of 15.

She will be dearly missed by her siblings Irene Dow (late Gerald), Agnes Desjardins (late Reynald) and Shirley Danis (Ronald).

Predeceased by her parents Albert Taillon and Aglaée Taillon (née Bergeron); her granddaughter Sarah Langford; and her siblings Alcide Taillon (late Lillian), Omer Taillon (late Hilda), Victoria Marsolais (late Rodolph), Florida Miron (late John), Edgar Taillon (late Gladys), Anna Smith (late Don), Albert Taillon (late Jeannine), Robert Taillon (infant), Leopold Taillon (late Claudette), Roger Taillon (Jeannette) and Rita Seguin (late Paul).

The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude to the staff of Quinn House and everyone at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre for treating our mother as one of their own.

In keeping with Loretta’s wishes cremation has taken place.

Family will be present at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH 20 SEVENTH STREET W, CORNWALL on FRIDAY MAY 8, 2026, between the hours of 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Prior to a Service of Remembrance that will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 11:00AM.

Innichement to take place at Notre Dame Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to St, Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
