It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvie Rzadkowski (MacMillan), announce her passing on April 27th - at the young age of 50. She left us peacefully, surrounded by family and best friends, in her hometown of Cornwall, Ontario.
Having spent most of her life in Toronto, Sylvie will be lovingly remembered by her big brother Daniel MacMillan, who spent every day by her side these past few weeks, his wife Jenny Chen, and her mother, Rita Cooper (late Phillip Cooper). She was the proud aunt to her brother’s children, Olivia and Thomas, and his step-children, Trinity and Savannah.
Sylvie was the soul sister of her best friends Naomi Sheane, Betsy-Marie Warnar, Becky Chin and Stephanie MacPherson. Thank you all for the visits. She was the proud godmother to Cadence, and auntie to Nathaniel, Clara, Emma and Evan. She had many family members and wonderful friends who she loved dearly, especially her Aunt and Uncle who were also her godparents, Barbara & Hubert Champagne, along with their daughters, Joanne (Tom) Champagne and Julie (Alex) Herman. Thank you for being by her side till the very end. She also wanted to mention her Aunt Eva Champagne (late Fernand Cholette) and her children, Line (Alain) and François (Manon) Cholette, along with their families. Sylvie considers herself blessed to have been able to say goodbye to many of her loved ones in her final days.
In her 29 years in social services and most recently as a personal support worker, she was adored by so many that she met along the way, as she had a real gift in connecting with people.
Her greatest gift, though, was in her love of all living beings and God. Her family will miss her big presence in their lives but rejoices knowing she is finally able to rest.
To know Sylvie, was to be loved by her. Her love for arts and crafts meant that her friends and family have many hand-made trinkets, decorations and jewelries she has gifted to them.
Sylvie loved to be kind and of service to others. In that spirit, she has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Sylvie has reviewed the words you read here herself, and wants everyone to know that she is at peace.
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
The family wishes to send a special Thank-You to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Cornwall Community Hospital, and Bayshore Healthcare Cornwall for their compassionate care - especially Dr. Maggie Yu and Sasha De Wit.
We love you Sylvie and will hold you close within our hearts, to walk with us throughout our lives, until we meet again.
“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
