Bruinsma, Sytske (Sadie) (née Ozinga) – On Sunday, September 11, 2022. She was 89. Beloved wife for 26 years of Jacob Bruinsma who passed away in 1980. Loving mother of Fred (Carol-Ann) and John (Denise).
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Kristen, Colin, Ashley, Jenna, and Tera, and great-grandchildren Mason, Elizabeth, and Jacob. She also survived her brother Albert Ozinga, Peter Ozinga, and sister Tina Vandew Bosch.
Predeceased by her parents, Fritz and Elsie (née Koithoss) Ozinga, and her siblings, Ted, Shirley, and Claire Zwawewburg.
Sadie immigrated to Canada in 1961 to Vernon, ON; where she had a Dairy farm with her first husband Jacob, from 1969 until his death in 1980.
She then went on to purchase and manage the Impala Motel in Lancaster, ON. with her business partner Friedhard Schneider from 1985 to 2005.
Cremation services are entrusted to the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Graveside Service to be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:30 AM at the Merrickville Union Cemetery, 204 Burritts Rapids Road, Merrickville, On.
