I will never forget you Uncle Joe. Thankyou for calling me "Princess Anne" and always making me feel like a Princess. I love you and Aunt Helen very much and always will.

I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I knew Joe through business, as I was a vendor to Cupples Paper Bag Company. I recall the many conversations we had on how we would change the world, and the lunches we shared at one of Joe's favorite restaurants, Mr. Stox. He was always a gentleman and a man of sincere faith. Joe and his family will be in my prayers... May he rest in peace.

There was no finer man than Joe Koberstein.  I had the honor of working with Joe at Los Angeles Paper Bag Company/Cupples Paper Bag Company.  He took a chance on me, a 19 year old business student from Cal State, and taught me what honor, integrity, and leadership was to look like in the work place. All respected him, not because he demanded it, but because he had earned it. Joe and I shared a love for the Fighting Irish and I will miss that camaraderie.  I am especially grateful that Joe taught me how to enjoy a nice glass of wine!

Joe was an extreamly caring man, who was my mentor for the 20 plus years that I worked with him at Los Angeles Paper Bag / Cupples Paper Bag Company. He had a exemptlary career and molded the careers of many fine employees.

He always put others first and set an outstanding example for other to follow. He was like a father to me and was loved by those that had the oppurtunity to get to know him. 

I will miss him a great deal and he will be forever in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe was a very good man who cared deeply about his employeees. I never had the pleaseure of working with him, but I saw how interested he was in those around him, and also saw him personally intervene in their lives to try to help them, often anonymously. He is truly "going to his reward" and it is well deserved, but he will be be missed my a great many people. 

The German poet-philosopher Goethe wrote that "we are shaped by the things that we choose to love." Joe loved his country, his family, and the people around him. He chose well, and through his beliefs and actions,  he left this world a better place for his having been here.
