

Carol was born in Los Angles to Gene and Elzada Coughlin and grew up in San Marino California. She met her husband Bryan Smith while attending Whittier College where she graduated in 1953 with a BA in Education.
Carol went on to become a 1st and 2nd grade teacher until she retired in 2001.
Carol spent countless hours cheering her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all of their sporting, and other activities, was active in her local Church, volunteered at Saddleback Hospital for ten years, and she was a founding member of the Guild Committee for the San Gabriel Civic Light Opera.
Survived by her three daughters and their spouses; Teri (Ed) Durst, Jani (Jeff) Musich and Lori (Rick) Ayers, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren who all loved her dearly and will miss her terribly.
Carol was quick to smile, and never had an unkind word to say about anyone.
She will be missed by all whose lives she brightened.
Carol will be laid to rest at Pacific View Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625 on October 29th and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 at the Mortuary Chapel.
