Charla Lee was a wonderful friend and special sister. I remember all the good talks we had to share. She has been missed a lot. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Sending deepest condolences to the family members of my dear friend.  We met 50 years ago at the Orange County USO and managed to remain in touch throughout the years even though we lived across the country.   I still have a card and letter from her sitting on my desk.  A few weeks before her passing, we had exchanged texts and pics and I was very sad to learn of her passing.  She had the voice of an Angel and beautiful, clear blue eyes.  I cherish the memory of her singing  a solo of "Why Can't Every Day Be Like Christmas" at a USO show the members put on for the Marines at El Toro (1972).  It was the highlight of the show.   My dear Angel friend - you are lovingly remembered.  I hope you are singing in Heaven and the Angels are smiling.   Love, Linda McCain

I met Charla Lee in Beta Sigma Phi October 1981. Be became fast friends and sisters. We loved to talk on the phone. We did alot together in sorority. We will miss Charla greatly. R.I.P my dear sister. May the Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from the other.

Charla was a very sweet and precious member of the Wood Family. I am so sorry to learn of her passing. I just learned of her passing into  eternity.  It has been years since I saw her ,but we all loved her.

Once our days of USO service were over, I always had intentions to stay in touch with other group members but didn't, and yet I still consider them all friends.  I will always remember gentle Charla, one - because I loved her pure black hair, and two, because she never lost her smile or raised her voice when angry or upset-- a trait I admired and still wish I could put into practice today.  

Of course we always remember people as they were when we last saw them.  To honor her as I remember and  pursuant to a comment made on this site, I wrote a tribute about how I imagine Charla might face her future.  It's too long to post here, but I would love somehow to make it known to her family and friends.  

My condolences to the Lee family and all others who knew her.  Rest in peace, Charla.

RIP sweet Charla and thank you for letting Bill out for breakfast once a week after retirement. I'm sure there were times you and my Sandy would have let us go two or three times a week. Memories of the past 25 years will linger on young lady. Rest easy.


 

Charla & I met in 1970 at the USO.  She was such a joy to know & when she tried to share Christ with me, I called her a Jesus Freak.  The following year I became a Christian & we laughed that I was a Jesus Freak, too.  I pray that her family will receive the peace that passes all understanding, in Jesus's Name.  Amen
