

Born April 15, 1922 in Kansas City, MO,
Father John Haward, Mother Cleta Archer.
Resided in Kansas City until parent’s divorce.
Moved to Los Angeles, CA to live with her Mother.
Her Mother started the American Employment Agency,
A successful, woman owned company in downtown Los Angeles
Dorothy was cared for at home by her Grandmother, Irene Archer.
She attended and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1919.
Her first year of college was spent at LACC where she met
Warren J. Lortie, a football star and her future husband.
Her second year she attended University of Southern California
Where she pledged the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
In 1941 she married Warren and soon after he joined the Army Air Corp.
Their first child was born at Lady Queen of Angels in 1943,
Warren H. (Woody”) Lortie who has resided in Newport Beach since 1977.
A second child Terrance J. Lortie, now deceased, was born,
at the Army base in Henderson, Nevada in 1945.
After the War, Warren J. worked for Boeing aircraft at San Bruno,
Residing first in San Leandro and then upgrading to San Carlos, CA
Their third child, Annette Louise Lortie, now deceased, was born in 1949.
The family relocated in 1952 to Glenmore Ave. in Glendale, CA.
The family moved once again to Woodland Hills in the Valley
as Warren J. was working for Radio Plane and Northrop in the area.
Children attended Woodlake, Sutter, Hughes, Canoga Park, and Grant.
Woody graduated in ’61 to USC, Terry in ’63 to Pierce JC
With Warren working for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach
The family moved to the first of three homes in Huntington Harbor in 1965.
Upon retirement the empty nesters relocated to San Juan Capistrano
And in 2002 joined Woody in Corona del Mar at the Terraces.
Warren passed in 2004 but Dorothy stayed in her home until 2013
Beginning her final years at Regent’s Point on Harvard in Irvine.
