Dear Mom, AKA Mutter and Gram,
What a wonderful life we have shared together. I will always remember our great times and our memories in the making.
You are truly loved now and forever and were/are a wonderful mentor and role model to me. Love ya to pieces.
From our fabulous trips to Alisal Guest Ranch to our memorable spa days, trips to do our nails together, tea at Java's and our annual Christmas teas.
Your spirit and gracious personality will live on with many forever.
You and Dad were so stellar to myself and my daughter's, especially during my miraculous pregnancies. You bundled up my preemies and took them on strolls on Balboa Island followed by a Bal Bar. 
Our trip to Europe was exceptional only to find you on the corner having a cone. 
You are remembered fondly by all of my friends and I hope to carry on many of the traditions.

There are so many wonderful things I could say about my Mom.  Too many in fact. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.  She was kind, generous and loving.  But maybe above all, I will always remember her as FUN, the life of the party!  The hostess with the mostess.  She made everyone feel so comfortable, whether it be in her home or hostessing a party at a restaurant.
  She absolutely loved coming to visit us in Florida.  She adored my boys and my husband.  I will never forget the day when she was visiting us in Florida when the boys were young and she came along as I drove the boys to school.  I think I was quizzing Kev on his spelling words and Ry on his science terms.  She turned to me and said, "You are such a good mother, Car."  At that moment I felt I was doing a good job!
  I know that daily I do or say things exactly like her.  I am told I look like her, which is an amazing compliment.  She will be forever in my heart and the the "best angel ever" watching over all of us.  I love you Mom.

Tribute to Gram (For those who were unable to hear my message on the day of celebration service)

Elizabeth K. McHale, a.k.a. “Grammy” shared many wonderful memories with her grand daughter Brittany a.k.a. “Brittsy”. 
A few memorable times that pop into my mind are as follows. 27 glorious years spent each August at “The Alisal Guest Ranch” in Solvang, CA. traveling by train where we participated in archery, went for a nature walk and experienced fun spa days. A 14 day European trip where I experienced my first international travel. We never passed a corner where we did not stop to get a cone (ice cream) as she would call it.  
   Also, we never passed up an opportunity for each of us learning something new. I would tell her something new and exciting on her cell phone and then she would practice it in particular on our train ride to Solvang. Whenever I have a cup of tea, I always think of Gram as she would give me helpful tips on the best way to brew a healthy cup of tea . Holiday teas were also a must during Christmas time with the delicious tea sandwiches and scrumptious mini desserts and of course a cup of holiday tea. Many rituals that we continued to do year after year, are our traditional spa days on birthdays and special occasions, trips to Fashion Island , lunch at Bloomies , fun times at the movies , walking the entire island at Balboa Island and browsing the shops. Also, whenever we headed to a bookstore we would always look at recipe books and self help books on fun remedies.
Her joyous laugh and contagious smile will always be remembered. Her fun style of clothing and helpful tips when shopping for a particular something will be treasured as well.   She was a determined lady and always reminded me to follow my dreams and to never give up. It is always wise to follow your passion and do not worry what others may think as long as you are happy and accomplishing what you would like in life. Love ya Gram and thanks for everything. You will be greatly missed.

Mari and Carla, What a beautiful woman your Mom was, inside and out. While time and the matters of our lives sometimes separate us from one another, we never forget those who through their charm, grace and wonderful love of life leave us filled with warmth. I can never forget your Mom's engaging way of giving us teenage girls admonishment before a night out in Balboa,"Remember girls lips that touch liquor shall never touch yours." Of course, it is only now after raising our own children that we can understand the depth of her concern, yet she found such a clever and lighthearted way to deliver her message that it made us think and her words have lasted the test of time. I smile when I think of her.God bless you Liz!

I knew Liz as "Gram."  Her granddaughter introduced me to her back in 2009 and I instantly felt the warmth and kindness in her smile and in her laugh.  We spent a wonderful afternoon shopping and enjoying lunch together.  Since then, Brit and I have had many lunches and visits with Gram.  She always made me feel like family and her spirit made it hard to say "goodbye." On February 18th, the world loss an amazing woman.  Yet, she is home and in the loving hands of my dear Savior.  Roy Lessin said it best, "Heaven is where Jesus is. It is the place where everything lasts forever, where everything that is best remains, where everything good is celebrated, where light fills every space, where love fills every heart, where worship fills every breath, where praise never stops, where pain never enters, where joys never cease." To my dearest friend Liz, when you finish partying with Jesus, all the Saints in Heaven, George, Mary, and Wynn, shine your sunshine on us.  I'm thankful for the opportunity to not only have worked for you and George, but become friends with such a warm and loving individual.  Your laugh and smile will always be close in my heart and I value the wonderful memories of time spent working and enjoying each others company.  I will miss you dearly.  Until we meet again! Liz…when I first met you I immediately felt drawn to you. You are a beautiful woman not only on the outside, but you taught me what it means to stay young at heart. Our big age difference never mattered because you always had more energy than most of my friends in their thirties. You were like a sister and best friend to me and I will always treasure all the fun times we spent together. You are one of the most generous, funny and kind hearted women I know. You were a role model to many people in your life and I feel honored to have had you as my soul sister and friend. I missed you so much in the past few years and hold you close to my heart forever. How do I start? I like to think that my Aunt Liz and I had a special relationship. She and I shared many good times together through the years both in California and in Philadelphia and many letters and phone calls when we couldn't actually visit each other.    Many. many great memories (too many to list here) will be with me all my life and I am just SO very grateful that I was able to visit with her recently.   My love and sympathy to my dear Cousins and their families during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you all and especially for this week. Liz was always such a ray of sunshine and she and George were two of the most honest loving people I have ever known.  Their light will live on in my heart and the hearts of those they touched throughout their lives.
