My condolences Kasra. Very sad to hear that your mom is gone. I spent my first Thanksgiving in the US at Fariba’s parents’ home. Fariba invited this person, whom she’d basically just met a few times in the dorm hallway, home for Thanksgiving when she learned that I planned to spend Thanksgiving at the dorm. That tells you all you need to know about Fariba, a sweet and generous soul, a true friend to friends and neighbors. Rest in peace Fariba, you left a legacy of joy and kindness, may it grow and sustain all those you knew and loved and continue to make the world a better and more beautiful place.

Dear Kasra, I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. She was truly a wonderful person. I remember her as a great neighbor, always bringing joy with her beautiful laughter and smile. She had such a positive outlook, even when facing the challenges of cancer. As a neighbor, she was always there for me, checking on my home when my garage door was open and looking after my cat when I was away. She was incredibly kind and sincere. I will always cherish the memories of her as my neighbor. The last time I saw her, she was in such peace and grace, even though she was in pain. I was so moved by her faith and surrender to God. May she find peace and love. Dear Kasra, may you find peace too. May you live with love and light. Dear Kasra and Raamin,
My heart is with you both. Fariba was my lifelong friend, and loving her meant loving the people she loved most — especially you.
She was held by love at the end, and she will always be remembered for her strength, her humor, and her amazing artistic talent — and for the warmth and originality she brought into the lives around her. She was selfless and devoted and lived a life of service.  I hope you feel surrounded by love during this difficult time. She is our angel.
