

Frederick (Fred) Eugene Turner, 71, passed away on October 1, 2025, after a courageous year-and-a-half battle with liver cancer. A devoted father, accomplished attorney, and spirited adventurer, Fred lived a life marked by resilience, generosity, and unwavering love.
Born on December 6, 1953, in Long Beach, California, Fred grew up with a deep curiosity about the world and a drive to make a meaningful impact. Fred was the youngest child of Elsie and William Turner, growing up alongside his older siblings, Doug, Bill, and Judy. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Cal State Long Beach before pursuing his legal education at Loyola Law School. His passion for justice and leadership led him to become an esteemed lawyer and the founder of Active Captive Management. His career accomplishments stemmed from his entrepreneurial spirit, competitive drive, hard work, and commitment to excellence in his field.
Fred’s professional accomplishments were matched only by his devotion to his family. He was the proud father of five children: Elizabeth Turner, Victoria Turner, Kaitlyn Turner, Savanah Turner, and Dylan Turner. Whether coaching his kids’ soccer team or embarking on spontaneous road trips with them, Fred cherished every moment spent with his children. His loyalty and love were constants in their lives.
Outside of work and family life, Fred embraced every opportunity for adventure. He found joy in golfing with his buddies, hiking alongside his beloved dogs, and travelling around the world. At home, he often played guitar on his red couch while watching the latest crime show or Anaheim Ducks hockey game. Fred was a proud vegetarian who enjoyed discovering new restaurants and sharing meals with those he loved.
Fred also dedicated himself to helping others through sponsorship in Alcoholics Anonymous. His generosity extended beyond words; he offered guidance and support to many navigating their own paths towards recovery. Fred achieved over 50 years of sobriety.
In his twenties, Fred was initiated into Radha Soami Satsang Beas and committed himself to daily meditation for two hours, a practice that grounded him throughout life. His spiritual journey took him across the globe as he traveled to India, Spain, and other countries to meet his guru.
Even during the most challenging days of his illness, Frederick remained a beacon of light for those around him. He defied expectations time and again with remarkable strength and grace. His adventurous nature never waned, he continued to seek out new experiences and uplift others with humor and warmth.
Frederick Eugene Turner leaves behind a legacy defined by courage, compassion, and connection. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
