

Geoffrey Lowe Sr., whose career in the industrial gas industry spanned 50 years, and whose gregarious nature and dynamic interpersonal skills earned him legendary status among his many loyal clients, died January 22, 2017, at his home in Irvine, California. He was 74.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Geoff graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Foreign Trade from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. For 13 years, he owned and operated Pure Dry Ice and Co2 Inc. out of Des Moines. In 1985, he moved to Southern California where he worked as a food specialist sales representative and then as a consultant. Throughout his career, Geoff displayed a unique and highly regarded talent for building and maintaining relationships. He was an honored colleague and mentor to many in his field.
Geoff is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen, and a family of which he was enormously proud: sons Geoffrey (Kim) Lowe Jr. and Jason Lowe; grandsons Maxwell Lowe and Christopher Lowe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Gloria and Bernard Lowe Sr., and two brothers, Bernard Lowe Jr. and Timothy Lowe. A joyful, generous man with a gift for humor, Geoff was loved by many and will be missed by all.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Geoff’s hospice nurse Judy Bradley. A celebration of Geoff’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Irvine Animal Care Center, Third Chance for Pets Program, 6443 Oak Canyon, Irvine, Calif., 92618, with a request that an acknowledgement be sent to the family
