Janet Natalia Gomez was born November 09, 1975 to Leonardo Gomez Galvez and Sandra Cervantes in Orange County, California. Natalia graduated from Woodbridge High School. A proud Delta Gamma, she earned a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Chapman University.
Natalia was an avid runner and marathon pacer, completing over 70 races. In addition to running races, Natalia was a brand ambassador for the OC Marathon and a coach for Kids Run the OC at Meadow Park Elementary School, where she shared her passion for logging miles with the next generation of runners.
Even before she was running marathons, Natalia was blazing trails. She was the first girl in CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) on an all-boys wrestling team at Woodbridge High School. Natalia inspired other girls to believe in themselves and to accomplish more (even if that “more” was wrestling the boys).
In her professional life, Natalia worked as a real estate agent and a Media and Lifestyle Travel influencer. She was also the president of a family owned Spanish-language news publication covering Disneyland and Disney events.
Natalia loved traveling, blogging, the performing arts, the OC Fair, and country music. Few things made her happier than attending a performance of the All-American Boys Chorus.
Above all, Natalia loved her family. She was a proud mother of two amazing children, Mason Hunter and Madison Faith, and a true companion to her husband, Mitch Winter. She was a beloved daughter, sister, “tia” (Spanish for “aunt”), cousin, and friend.
Never one to run from a fight, Natalia fought cancer every day with the same resilience and bravery on her first day as on her last. She never gave up. She never stopped living the life that she wanted. She did more, saw more, experienced more, and loved more in 46 years than most would in twice that time. Natalia truly lived.
Natalia is survived by her husband Mitch Winter, children Mason Hunter and Madison Faith, mother Sandra Cervantes Bannon, Sandra's husband Robert Bannon, sisters Yvette Vanessa Campbell and Melissa Bannon, Yvette’s husband Michael Campbell, nieces Mila and Evey Campbell, and nephew Colin Campbell.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pacificviewcalifornia.com for the Winter family.
