John Allen Janes

February 21, 1947 – August 31, 2010

John Allen Janes lost his courageous four year battle with prostate cancer on August 31st at the age of 63. He passed away in his home he cherished in Corona del Mar for 25 years with his beloved family at his side.

John was the youngest child born to John Clifford Janes and Orga Edith Janes in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended UC Davis. John was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Air Force for three years.

He began his career as a developer over three decades ago with the development of single family housing, as well as commercial and industrial development projects. Throughout his career he served as President of Janes Company, President of Pentridge Real Estate Company, as well as the Director of Forward Planning for both the Janes Group and M.D. Janes Companies. Most recently, John was Chairman of ESA Energy which provides environmentally supportive power and renewable energy projects.

John is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ann, daughters Courtney Janes, Jennifer Janes Salisbury (Cory), Paige Janes, and Jacque Janes Pryharski. His grandchildren John Harper Salisbury, Jake Pryharski, and Mykel Pryharski, brother Michael David Janes (Laura) and sister Janet Janes Azinger, his nieces and nephews and countless treasured friends who will always cherish John in their hearts.

A funeral mass celebrating John’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 4th at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church in Newport Beach.
