United States Air Force Major (Ret.)
WWII B-25 Mitchell Bomber Combat Pilot, 321st Bomb Group, 446th Bomb
Squad. He flew 26 Missions during WWII, and served in the Air Force Reserves for many years.
Jack was a devoted family man and always put family first above all else. He was always willing to make personal sacrifices for his family and worked tirelessly to make his children’s lives better in any way he could.
He worked as an engineer after WWII and was with Fluor Corp. for over
45 years. He retired as a Senior Designer. Fluor called him back to work
on many projects after his official retirement because of his expertise
and knowledge that few others had. He trained designers for Fluor
passing along his knowledge and expertise.
He was a Land Surveyor in the Sierra Nevada Mountain region.
He had a passion for trains, swimming, boating, ice skating, bowling, water skiing, and anything
related to aviation. He was very athletic, and was an exceptional quarterback on his High School Football team.
Jack loved to BBQ, and chocolate milk and chocolate pudding were a daily food group.
He had fond memories of growing up on a farm and often reminded us that
he used to make his own wine that was superior to and not nearly as expensive as store bought wine.
He grew up in the Great Depression years and saw many changes over his
long and productive life.
Jack was a jack of all trades. He was well known for his ability as a
handyman to make, change, or repair just about anything. We are all quite certain he has already organized and fixed everything for the angels. He enjoyed
fixing cars and working on all types of home projects.
He constantly sought to do jobs to help other people all the time. If
he had a choice between relaxing and taking the day off or doing
something to help someone else, he always chose the latter. His generation has been called “The Greatest Generation” and that perfectly described Jack.
Those wishing to make donations in Jack's memory may provide to the family a check payable to ARCC.
