John William Tucker

On April 7, John (aka Butch) Tucker, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 83 years young. John was born in Wilmington, Delaware and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting & played baseball at Florida State University to later pursue a career in the Writing Instrument & Lighter industries. His zest for life drove him to travel and make friends around the globe. He met his wife Martha while growing up together on the island of Aruba. They were married in 1959. Martha passed away 12 years ago.

John always loved a challenge. Whether it was playing poker, negotiating the cost of a making a pencil, betting on the golf course or simply what is the definition of a perfect Caesar Salad. He always conveyed his firm standing on the matter. He also had a great since of humor with an appreciation for a good laugh. Extending his hand to help others was always his best trait.

John leaves behind a strong family and a wonderful group of friends. He is survived by Mike Tucker & his wife Sherri, Scott Tucker & his wife Karen, Nicole Tucker Ebiner & her husband Jeff, and five grandchildren Morgan Tucker Shelton, Emily Tucker, Justin Tucker, Devon Tucker, and Colin Ebiner. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we instead ask for donations to be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation www.pcf.org or the American Kidney Fund www.kidneyfund.org. A memorial service will be held June 24 at the Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary at 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625 at 10 a.m..
