

He was raised in San Carlos, California by Stanley Munday and Constance Munday, and used the Munday name all his life. Joe excelled in sports, especially basketball and track and field. He was a lifetime rabid fan of the Atlanta Braves. He enlisted in the Navy and served bravely in Vietnam as a combat corpsman with the Marines. He was a patriot, proud of his service and heritage. Joe's mother was a descendent of President Zachary Taylor, and a Daughter of the American Revolution. Joe worked as a radiation therapist in California and Saudi Arabia, and settled in Newport Beach in 1993. Joe worked at Hoag Hospital until his retirement in 2011, loving his work and loved by his patients. Afterwards, he continued with contract work until covid struck, especially at Saint Mary's Hospital in Long Beach.
He is survived by his wife Lesia, his sister Susan Clarke, his children Joseph Jr., Jeffrey, and Constance. Joe was blessed with ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren. He lived a life of infectious joy and is very sadly missed.
