

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Magda Montasir, his sons Hisham El Bayar (wife, Katherine) and Sami El Bayar (wife, Sylvia), his granddaughters Tania, Taryn, Camile, Gianna, and Mia, and his great granddaughter Mila, and his brother, Said El Bayar.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he emigrated to the United States in 1969.
He attended Alexandria University Medical School and graduated first in his class.
After moving to Los Angeles, he went on to become a highly respected, leading, vascular surgeon and held multiple prestigious leadership positions. Additionally, he established his hospital’s high level trauma center.
He was a founding member of the Egyptian American Organization and served as its chairman on two occasions, and was a founding member of the Arab American Medical Association.
He was a devoted leader, a mentor, and an inspiration to all. His vast knowledge, love of learning, and sincere dedication to the community set a standard of service and commitment that continues to guide many today.
His biggest passion however, was his wife and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father-in-law, who passed on a legacy of honor, dignity, kindness, and love.
Dr. Bayar’s contributions touched countless lives, and his friendship and wisdom will be deeply missed.
A graveside service for Dr. El Bayar will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Newport Vista Section of Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625.
