Michael Volpe

Michael Volpe, 80, son of Josephine and Samuel Volpe was born August 26, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and he passed away October 8, 2013 in Newport Beach, California. He moved to El Monte CA at the age of 13 and graduated from El Monte High School in 1951. Over the course of Mike's broadcasting career he managed television stations WCVB in Boston, MA; KDOC in Southern California; WHLL in Worcester, MA and WLFL in Raleigh, NC. Mike was a car enthusiast with a 1968 Mustang fastback that had been his Dad's that he enjoyed taking to local car shows. He warmed the hearts of many by singing Sinatra songs and cooking his famous Italian meatballs and gravy. He loved to travel and enjoyed the Hawaiian Islands. Mike was a real people person who possessed boyish charm and a great sense of humor. Mike proudly served his country as a dental technician in the US Navy. He is survived by his wife Sue Ellen Volpe, daughter Julie Volpe, stepsons Tim weeks and Jason Weeks, grandchildren Jessie Jones, Skylar Weeks, Sarah Weeks, Nicholas Weeks and Alec Weeks.
