Mihailo was the youngest of two sons born to Tihomir and Ana Krasich. His father, Tihomir, served in the Serbian Armed Forces when during World War II was declared missing in action and had never returned home nor heard from again. This left Mihailo, and his brother, Ćaslav without their father leaving the responsibility of raising a family solely their mother Ana. She raised Mihailo and Ćaslav single-handedly in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
Mihailo and Ćaslav were exceptional students, ultimately graduating from the University of Belgrade, upon which Mihailo earned his degree in Dentistry and Ćaslav earned his in Law.
Shortly thereafter Mihailo was recruited by Belgrade’s Diplomatic Service, where he established his residency in Dentistry, and subsequently met an engineer named Milena who became his first wife. A few years following their marriage, they decided to emigrate to the United States and in order to do so, were required to live in Locarno, Switzerland for a few years where Mihailo was a partnered with a dentist and worked at their practice. During their stay in Switzerland, Mihailo and Milena welcomed their first child, a daughter, Irena in 1968.
In 1971 Mihailo, Milena, and Irena embarked on their final leg of emigrating to the United States and settled in beautiful Newport Beach, California, where he opened his own practice in general dentistry. He remained in the same 4th floor corner suite for 46 years, perfecting his craft and delighting his patients, one smile at a time. During this time Mihailo and Milena welcomed twin sons, Andre and Emil in February of 1974.
Mihailo was an impeccably detail-oriented person both professionally and personally. That aspect particularly manifested itself in his passion for marksmanship. Throughout his lifetime he collected numerous firearms, learning everything he could about each one. Additionally, he practiced the art of reloading his own ammunition which afforded him control over every aspect of achieving the perfect round…the product of his meticulous experimentation, documentation, and testing. A prime example of his patience, dedication, and pursuit of excellence which defined Mihailo in all aspects of life.
Divorced in 1986, Mihailo trained his sights towards one smile he never forgot, his beloved Joan. They re-met shortly thereafter, during a serendipitous appointment, and in 1990 were married. A patient at first, Joan quickly became the love of his life and together they’ve spent 33 happy years travelling and raising their blended family.
Mihailo is survived by his wife Joan, his daughter Irena and son-in law Dustin Homsher, his sons Andre and Emil Krasich with daughter-in-law Sarah Ottow, granddaughters Ava and Julia with grandson-in-law Shane Johnson. He is also survived by his stepchildren Taryn and Tim O’Neil, Todd and Melissa Hilken and grandchildren Olivia, Madeline, Brady and Siena.
Mihailo has impacted countless lives throughout his long and impressive life. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends but never forgotten. Mihailo will forever live in our hearts, minds, and memories, as well as, those of each and every person he touched throughout his journey of life.
