Cherished fiancé of Lynette Contreras and her daughter, Layla. He is survived by his children Michelle (Joe) Davis and David Shiffman. Special grandfather of Blake and Rachel. Cherished brother of Dr. Roger (Joanne) Shiffman, Dr. Douglas (Julie) Shiffman, and Donald (Alene) Shiffman. Loving son of the late Jennie and the late Victor Shiffman. Also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.

As a native Detroiter, Mitch loved Motown, rock and roll, and was an avid sports fan of the Tigers, Pistons, Lions, and the Red Wings. With each season, his framed license plate would have a separate logo for each team.
