She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Vincenta (“Jean”) Gucciardo, and spent part of her childhood in New Orleans before moving to California around 1948. There, she built a meaningful life centered on family, friendships, and caring for others.
Nancy was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She spent 30 years at Downey Savings and Loan, rising from secretary to Vice President of Human Resources and becoming the company’s first woman executive. She later worked at Westminster High School as assistant to the Activities Director, where she loved being around students—and they loved her in return.
She also volunteered for 10 years with the Assistance League of Huntington Beach.
Nancy enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with her large Italian family. Her faith brought her comfort and strength, and in her later years, she especially loved singing.
Above all, Nancy loved her family. She was loyal, generous, and had a way of making people feel happy simply by being around her. There is comfort in knowing she is now reunited in Heaven with her mother and her sisters, Donie and Josie.
She is survived by her two other loving sisters, Gerry and Lee; 10 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
Nancy lived a life full of love, kindness, and faith. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
