Olga Lena (Micki) Beaver was born to Mike and Annie Shulski on November 7, 1929, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She was an only child of Ukrainian immigrant parents. A few years after Micki graduated from high school she moved to Los Angeles, California. She worked as an airline stewardess for Western Airlines and later joined Air California in their sales department at the Disneyland Hotel then later in Newport Beach. She semi-retired in the 1980’s and became a travel agent.
Micki met and married Joe on September 15, 1973. They were such a close couple that they were always called “Micki and Joe”. One did not think of one without the other. They made their home in Newport Beach, California. In retirement Micki and Joe bought a second home in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was their happy place where they made many friends in Castle Surf, enjoyed the “hang loose” lifestyle of Hawaii. They were members of the Outrigger Canoe Club which they frequented as well as invited family and friends as guests.
Micki was an adventurer, chef, dancer, tennis player, artist and welcoming host to the many dinner parties she and Joe hosted in their homes for both family and friends.
While Micki was an only child, she loved the big Beaver family she married into and was cherished by the family. Her Canadian family was always a big part of her life too. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Celebration of life for Micki will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pacific View Mortuary & Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar, California 92625.
