Payching Alice Chen "Chen Mama"

Payching Alice Chen, fondly called “Chen Mama”, was born on January 19th, 1930 in Tainan, Taiwan. She moved to a beautiful new estate on January 28th, 2024, where she is forever blessed.

Chen Mama was a beautiful, graceful, considerate, loving, talented, diligent, tenacious, humorous, hardworking, highly intelligent and full of wisdom Christian lady. She was the cornerstone of her family, the best righthand of her husband, a wise and tender role model of her children, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Outside the family, she was a beloved piano teacher, Japanese teacher, and Taichi teacher.

She was always at the forefront to support people. Her love toward her family overflowed and reached many of our extended family and friends, hence the name Chen Mama.

Chen Mama was survived by her loving daughter Lily Tu and husband Roger Tu; son Nanming Chen and wife Bon-Chu Chung; daughter Jane Jaorong Chen and husband Ragnar Edholm; son Peter Nanrong Chen and wife Minglin Chen; grandchildren, Ying-Ja Chen and husband Sheng-Hong Chen, Steve Tu and wife Anne Lin, Audrey Chen and husband Chad Lamoureux, Rose Chen, Mingja Edholm, Linnea Edholm and husband Everardo Villalobos and great grandson Eugene Chen.

A visitation for Pay Ching will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pacific View Mortuary Legacy Chapel, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar, California 92625, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
