

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Robert Allen Cook, who died peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 30, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, Robert moved to Southern California at a young age with his father, Leo Cook, mother, Betty Cook, brother, Wendell Cook, and sister, Sandra Cook. Together, they laid down roots that would shape Robert’s life and values.
Robert earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and went on to receive his law degree from the University of Southern California. Though he chose not to practice law, his legal education served him well in the business world. He joined his family’s company, Tuftex Industries, where he worked with diligence and vision—eventually becoming president. Under his leadership, Tuftex thrived and grew into a respected enterprise before being sold in the early 90s. Robert’s role in shaping the company’s success left a lasting legacy in both the industry and the lives of those who worked alongside him.
After Tuftex, Bob served on numerous Boards:

An athletic achiever throughout his life, Robert played tennis at a very high level from his youth well into adulthood. His dedication to fitness and discipline also earned him a black belt in karate, reflecting his commitment to perseverance and self-improvement.
After the sale of Tuftex, Robert embraced one of his greatest passions: traveling the world. He explored many countries and cultures, creating cherished memories and stories that he loved to share.
Beyond his professional achievements and adventures, Robert was a lifelong learner and a man of many passions. He loved reading, listening to music, and engaging in spirited political discussions. He never turned down a good debate, bringing insight, civility, and a sharp wit to every conversation.
Most of all, Robert was a devoted father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, his four loving children: Brandon Cook(Nastasia), Staci Arbogast(Ryan), Ryan Cook; and Logan Cook. He also cherished his four beautiful grandchildren: Gwen Arbogast, Quinn Cook, Leona Cook, and Norah Cook. He also leaves behind his ex-wives and mothers to his children, Tina Cook and Victoria Bernstein, his brother, Wendell Cook; his sister, Kristina Palmero ; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Leo Cook; his mother, Betty Cook; and his sister, Sandra Cook.
A memorial service will be held on June 4th from 3:00 pm- 6:00. Pm at Big Canyon Country Club, where family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Robert’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the USC Norris Cancer Hospital Fund.
