Our dad graduated from Millikan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Soon after he graduated, he joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and served until May of 1964. He served as a Marksman for two years. He served us proud. After, he decided that he was done with the cold and moved to sunny California where he met his beloved wife of 47+ years. He would say he was still married. He owned and ran two toy stores for most of his life, but he still had time to travel the world, play tennis, and raise three wonderful kids. We can only hope we do the same.
He was the son of Chester Bardwell Phenix and Edith Lackman Phenix. He is survived by his 3 children Christopher, Kimberly, and Deborah and 9 grandchildren which include Riley, Kieran, Ashley, Van, Brandon, Piper, Austin, Irelynn, Shane, and we can’t forget his loyal dog Benjamin Franklin! He was proud of each one!
Our Dad’s services will be held at Pacific View Mortuary in Corona Del Mar on Friday, August 13th at 10:00 am. Reception to follow. In honor of Steve, Hawaiian shirts are welcomed to be worn at the service.
