Born in Gary, Indiana, Virma or Vee Jelks on February 22, 1949, she went to Roosevelt High School and soon
left Gary to move to Alaska. Soon after, she joined family in Los Angeles, and lived there ever since.
Virmardais is survived by her husband, Stuart; her daughter, Toni Jelks-Martinez; son, Chevon Hicks; Mother, Martha Jelks;
brother Vaughn Jelks; sister, Vaylo Jelks; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held for her at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 11:00am on Wednesday July 27th located at,
9440 Balboa Boulevard, Northridge, CA 91325.
