

Alicia G. Perez passed away at the age of 81 on May 2, 2025, at home in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on September 6, 1943, Alicia dedicated much of her life to a career at Spohn Hospital. She began working in the labor and delivery department at the age of 15 and retired as a Certified Surgical Technician totaling 51 years of service. She was often used as a trainer for incoming technicians from Del Mar College and was proud of her contribution to future technicians.
Alicia was a graduate of Roy Miller High School, class of 1962. She was a long-standing member of Our Lady of Guadalupe where she had previously sung with the choir. She found joy in her hobbies, which included bowling, singing, bringing light and laugher to those around her. She was often seen dancing and playing pool.
Alicia was a beloved mother and grandmother, survived by her children, Philip J. Perez, Michael J. Perez (Connie), Cynthia A. Perez (Cheryl) and Christina M. Vuittonet. Known affectionately as Momo Alice by her grandsons Bryon "Juni", Ash, Jesse, Mark, Cayden, James, and granddaughter Cynthia "Ali". Alicia is survived by sisters Paulita Rivas, Julia Ayala, Susana Gonzalez, Herminia Pina, and Rosie Vela. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and a lifelong best friend Rosie Tamez. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents Manual and Paulita Garza, brothers Reynaldo, Guadalupe, Manual, and Jose Garza and sisters Beatrice Garza and Mary Ester Vega. Known for her sense of humor and her ability to find laughter even in life's toughest moments, Alicia was also preceded in death by her ex-husband Jose O. Perez leaving her as a divorced widow. Alicia's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her career, making lasting contributions to both her professional field and community. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A visitation for Alicia will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Cheyenne, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX. A recitation of the holy rosary will occur Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A continued visitation will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, 549 Cheyenne St., Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 540 Hiawatha St., Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A burial will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, TX.
