With hearts heavy yet filled with gratitude for the time we had with her, we share the passing of Amanda Lee Edwards, 33, of Corpus Christi, Texas. She left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born on September 18, 1991, in Harlingen, Texas, Amanda was the beloved daughter of David Arturo Edwards (Adriana Garcia) and Rachel Galvez-Flores (Jaime Flores). From an early age, it was clear that Amanda danced to the beat of her own drum—spirited, tenacious, and full of life. She carried an infectious energy that lit up any room, a quick wit that brought laughter even in the darkest moments, and a heart that sought to uplift those around her.
Amanda had an insatiable love for film, art, and psychology, seeing beauty and meaning in the complexities of life. Her journey was not without hardship, but she faced every challenge with remarkable strength and resilience. No matter how many difficult hands life dealt her, she played them with grace, courage, and an unbreakable spirit. Even in her final days, she found joy in laughter, proving that her light could never be dimmed.
Determined to make a difference, Amanda pursued a degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Human Services, hoping to help others as a drug counselor. Though her path was unexpectedly cut short, her passion for healing and advocating for others will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Amanda was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Samantha Danae Edwards. She is survived by her greatest love, her son, Ezra Galvez-Flores; her siblings, Michael Raymond Edwards (Claudia Vasquez), Sirena Renee Everett, Kaylen Edwards, Stephanie Edwards, and Driannah Jane Edwards. She also leaves behind many cherished family members and friends who will deeply mourn her absence but forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
Amanda’s time here was far too brief, but the impact she left behind is immeasurable. She was a force of nature—a warrior, an artist, a dreamer, a giver. Though she now walks a different path, through Heaven’s gates instead of the roads she once traveled, her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit remain with us always.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A visitation for Amanda will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405.
