Andrez Rodela Jr.

Andrez “Andy” Rodela, Jr., age 85, of Corpus Christi, passed away on September 3, 2025. He was born on October 28, 1939. Andy built his career in construction and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, playing the lotto, and never went a day without his coffee. A true sports fan, he loved cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and listening to his beloved Houston Astros on the radio.

Andy was a man who brought laughter wherever he went. His quick wit, funny stories, and the way he could make anyone smile will never be forgotten. One of the family’s favorite memories is his daughter always reminding him to “lock the door and turn off the light.” He also had a love for German chocolate cake, enchiladas with charro beans, and especially his daughter’s homemade potato salad, which he loved because it reminded him of her mom’s. He cherished the simple comfort of pancakes with over easy eggs and time spent surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrez Rodela Sr., and his mother, Tomasa Acuna. He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Rose Lara; grandchildren Rene Dimas Jr., Andrez Dimas, Abigail L. Dimas, Elizabeth N. Dimas, and Michael Davila; and great-granddaughter, Andrea C. Hernandez.

I would like to give special thanks to all of my dad's friends who are considered to me and my children as extended family from the Jalisco's Taqueria on Port and Morgan. Also, from Stripes on Port and Margarita and from the bakery on Port and Ruth. Thank you to everyone who has called and checked on my children and I, thank you to everyone who has made donations. Every one of you are greatly appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Thank you all, God bless.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

A visitation for Andrez will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, followed by a Holy Rosary from 7:00 PM.
