

Armando “Mando” L . Blancas, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, he was 63 years old. Mando was born January 5, 1952 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He began his career with Athena cable vision on July 11, 1973 and evolved with the company despite many changes and challenges he encountered. Throughout his 42 years of commitment to the cable system, he touched many lives with his eagerness to share his knowledge, wisdom, and understanding with anyone seeking success in the company as he did. He will be dearly missed not only by family and friends, but also by his Time Warner family and anyone that he crossed paths with.
Mando is preceded in death by Arturo and Petra Blancas (parents).
He is survived by wife Elva Pena Blancas, children Vanessa Blancas Gonzales (Jim), Gabriel Armando Blancas (Alison) grandchildren Jonathan Gonzales, Taylor Gonzales, brothers and sisters: Ruben Blancas (Sandra)- Louisiana, Arturo Blancas (Adela)- Houston, Ray Blancas (Ilda)-Houston, Rachel Blancas –Corpus Christi, Juan Blancas- Corpus Christi, Alfredo Blancas – Corpus Christi, Martha Garza (Hector)-Houston.
Pallbearers: Ruben Blancas, Arturo Blancas III, Bruce Blancas, Maciel Tovar, Maciel Tovar, Jr., Jesse Tovar, David Rivera, Honorary Jonathan Gonzales
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
