Aurora Castillo

Maria Aurora Castillo, 95, of Corpus Christi, Texas, departed her loving family on September 11, 2022. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on May 7, 1927. Aurora enjoyed taking walks, spending time with her friends in the neighborhood, and being with family. She was the last surviving sibling out of 11 brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel B. Castillo; children, Roman Castillo, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Alicia Castillo, and Juanita Castillo; her sons-in-law, Oscar Valenzuela and Ricardo Gonzalez; daughters-in-law, Olga Castillo, Catherine Castillo, and Adriana Castillo; and grandchildren, Laura Valenzuela, Zion Harper, Alejandro Castillo, Gabriel Castillo Jr., and John Jeremy Castillo.

Mrs. Aurora Castillo is survived by children, Pedro (Guadalupe), Jose (Irma), Roberto (Guadalupe), Daniel Jr., Andres (Dora), Gabriel (Cynthia), Antonio (Elvira), Arturo, Yolanda Valenzuela; grandchildren, Angela Castillo and Oscar (Rebecca) Valenzuela, and great grandchildren, Zechariah and Zilliah Harper. Aurora is also survived by 53 grandchildren, 132 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Maria will be held in her honor on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A prayer service will occur Friday, September 30, 2022 at 7:00 PM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. A burial will occur Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:15 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
