July 2021, we took our last family vacation to Galveston, TX  where we toured around their historic shopping center, rode a 6 seat bike along the seawall and visited Schlitterbahn water park. The day we visited Schlitterbahn grandma had no anticipation of getting into the water, she didn’t know how to swim. She got a wild hair and agreed to go into the lazy river with me and try one of the rides. Typical grandma and me fashion, we took 20+ pictures to remember this rare moment.  Getting her into the tube was a long laugh of its own because she had never been in one before so she didn’t understand how to properly float in it. My mom and I got nervous of her getting lost floating by herself so I found a double tube for her and I to float together. We made our way to huge wave pool and the upper rapid rides. When I tell you we laughed so hard we couldn’t breath, the people around us starting laughing along with us because we almost flipped out of our float multiple times, we remembered grandma couldn’t swim mid ride, we kept screaming/laughing for both of those reasons and grandma’s hair was getting wet! I will never forget her laughter, smile and excitement for overcoming one of her fears. She was determined to enjoy our family trip together and I will forever cherish those moments with her. She took a part of my heart with her in heaven and she will forever be missed. We love you grandma!
