

Bonnie L. Rhymes passed away on November 14, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born March 30, 1927 in Sylvester, Texas to Dawson and Birtie McCain. Bonnie grew up in the Abilene, Texas area, lived in California in the 1950’s, and then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in the early 1960’s, where she spent the remainder of her life. She spent most of her working life employed by Civil Service at the Navy Commissary, Corpus Christi Naval Air Station, where she retired in 1989 after 25 years of service.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dave Carson; and her husband, Richard Rhymes, both retired Navy veterans.
She is survived by her son, David Carson of Corpus Christi, Texas; her son, Randall Baccus and wife, Mary, of Conroe, Texas; her daughter, Sandra Wake and husband, Byron, of Houston, Texas; her grandson, Neal Cox and wife, Dana, of Houston, Texas; her sister, Rose Mitchell and husband, Charles, of Pecos, Texas; her sister, Juanell Ueckert, of Monahans, Texas; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
After retiring, Bonnie spent several years as a volunteer for, as well as traveled with, the Senior Friends Organization in Corpus Christi, where she made many wonderful friends, and enjoyed her many travels.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors located at 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.
