Bonnie Ann Walker passed away at home on February 5, 2018 after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Bonnie was born September 18, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Paul and Shirley Adams. She was the oldest of three children, attended Chapelle High School and during the late 1960’s she performed weekly with The Romano Dancers on New Orleans’ The John Pela Show.
After graduating from high school, Bonnie began a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at East Jefferson Hospital. It was while working as a nurse Bonnie met her future husband, Mike Walker. They married and started their own family; in 1981 they settled in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised their six children.
For forty-five years, Bonnie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and homemaker. Bonnie and Mike are members of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was involved in the Women’s Council and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Bonnie also used her sewing talents to create baptismal stoles as well as liturgical decorations for the parish.
Bonnie is survived by her husband and love of her life, Mike Walker; son, Chuck Walker and spouse, Carrie; daughter, Heather Ryan and spouse, Matt; daughter, Amanda Guernsey; daughter, Corinne Walker; son, Scott Walker and spouse, Julianne; son, Michael Walker; grandchildren, Matthew Guernsey, Stacie Guernsey, Grace Walker, Alana Ispas, Ashley Walker, Madilyn Walker, Myla Walker, Kyle Guernsey, Stephen Ryan, Michael Ryan, Benjamin Walker, Joshua Ryan; brother, Paul Adams, Jr.; nephew; Jesse Freeman; nephew, Christian Freeman; niece, Chantelle Stubbs.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Shirley Adams and her sister, Ginger Freeman.
The Funeral Mass will be offered at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Boulevard in Corpus Christi.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bonnie’s honor to Catholic Charities.
