

Mr. Villarreal graduated from Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1961. He joined the US Navy, serving honorably for 23 years as a SeaBee and air traffic controller. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving aboard the USS Kearsarge, and participated in Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the Corpus Christi Independent School District as an HVAC technician. He also went back to college, earning an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts at Del Mar College, and ended his career as a chef.
Mr. Villarreal was married three times, from 1991-2019 to Rita Villagran, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Norma J. Winterroth from 1987-1989, also in Corpus Christi, and Martha E. McLemore from 1961-1984, in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Villarreal was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He also served as a baseball umpire and football referee at the youth and college level. He was most known for his love for his two dogs, Duchess and Princess.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruno G. and Mathilde Villarreal, his brother, John W. Villarreal, and his wife, Rita Villarreal. He is survived by his three children, Desiree M., C’Leste M., and Bruno J. Villarreal. He also has three grandchildren, Allyssa Rice, John-Michael Villarreal, and Chloe Pargas.
