He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Barnett and Aurora Barnett; son, Ben Barnett and step-daughter, Irene Alvarez.
He is survived by his wife Maria V. Barnett; children, Charles Barnett (Cecilia), Charlotte Barnett, William Barnett (Letty), Glenn Barnett; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Irma Garcia; step-son Edward Garcia (Connie); step-son-in-law, Joe Alvarez, and step-granddaughter, Diana Rae Alvarez.
Viewing will from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. April 23, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
