Charlotta Ann Overton

Charotta graduated from Herrin High School and attended Southern Illinois University.

In May 1952 at Biloxi Mississippi, she married Don E. Overton. Charlotta was preceded in death by her husband, Don Overton; her parents, Bill and Clara Winning; and her brother, Bill Winning III.

Charlotta found steady joy in the outdoors and took special pleasure in gardening. She enjoyed being with her dogs, and she delighted in feeding birds and watching them. A talented craftsman, she was skilled in knitting, spinning, weaving, and rug making—pursuits that reflected the gentle care and patient attention she brought to the world around her.

A kind-hearted and cherished presence in her family’s life, Charlotta loved watching football and keeping up with all of her kids and grandkids, always valuing the simple comfort of staying connected.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Overton (Lisa Matway), Cindy Overton Kerr (Paul Kerr), and Kelly Overton; her sister, Jane Hendrickson (Rich Henderson); and her grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer, her cherished grandchildren.
