Connie Barrera

Connie Barrera, 52, of Gregory, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 15, 1972, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Connie shared a beautiful life with her beloved partner, Roy Flores.

She had a spirited love for life, finding joy in playing darts, cheering on her favorite football team, indulging in online shopping, and especially spending time at the casino. Some of the family's most cherished memories include Football Sundays, annual trips to the Frio River, friendly dart games, and her unforgettable casino adventures with her best friend, Eddie.

Above all, Connie was known for the boundless love and care she gave to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ponciano Barrera, and her biological mother, Emilia S. Barrera.

Connie’s legacy lives on through her adored children—Emilia “Emily,” Ashley, Samantha, and Angela “Lala” (Josh) —and her eight treasured grandchildren: Emry, Sophia, Jiraiya, Aubrey, Elias, Tobias, Josie, and Daemon. She is also survived by her loving partner, Roy Flores; her Mother, Rachel Barrera; and her siblings, Orie (Ricky) Rossel, Chayo (Juan Carlos) Marquez, Dora (Noel) Gonzalez, Veronica (Damon) Yarde, and Chon (Veronica) Perez.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Connie’s niece, Victoria, an LVN, for her loving care and comfort in Connie’s final days. They are also deeply grateful to the family and friends who remained by her side, offering love and support.
