David Fredrick Woods, Jr., 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on April 30, 2025. Born in Waterville, Maine, on March 23, 1955, Dave was the beloved son of David Fredrick Woods, Sr. and Sandra Alice Woods.
Dave graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973 and continued his education at CMVTI, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Arts in 1975. His creative passion led to a fulfilling 45-year career in the field, with the final 20 years spent at Black Dog Graphics—a place he deeply valued and where he formed a lasting friendship with colleague Jeff Lucas.
On June 29, 1985, Dave married the love of his life, Melissa, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and community.
Dave was more than an artist; he was a dedicated community member and volunteer. He actively participated in the PAL program in Clinton from 2000 to 2018 and played a key role in launching the Concerts in the Park events through Clinton Parks & Recreation.
A gifted musician, Dave shared his love of music by performing with two local bands—Misty Bliss and The Bobcats—where he sang and played harmonica. He was equally passionate about reading, drawing, writing songs, playing golf, and cheering on his favorite teams: the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, and especially his hometown Lawrence High School Bulldogs.
Dave was most known for his kindness, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. He had the rare ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend—and many of them were. His warmth and loyalty created bonds that spanned decades.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Sandra Woods, Sr.; his brothers, Stacy and Eric Woods; and his grandparents, Roger and Henrietta Whitham, and Roy and Eleanor Kingsley.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 39 years, Melissa Woods; his children, Emily Woods and Matthew Woods; his siblings, Barry Woods, Mark and Cheryl Woods, and Kelly Woods; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of lifelong friends.
A fellowship to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dave’s legacy of joy, compassion, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Maine at the Clinton Lions Club fairgrounds on July 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
