
Delia was born on November 28, 1951, in Three Rivers, Texas, to Milton Perez and Beatrice M. Perez. She later made Corpus Christi her lifelong home, where she became a central and enduring presence in a family deeply rooted in the community. Delia was the matriarch — the steady foundation that held generations together through love, strength, and unwavering support.
Delia married Robert G. Cristan on April 13, 1990, through the courts, and later united in marriage through the church on November 28, 2016. Together, they shared a devoted life and home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is survived by her children: Ana Linda Perez (Mike), Rachel Guerrero, and Robert Cristan (Leslie). Delia was a proud and loving grandmother to eighteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren all of whom brought her immeasurable joy and purpose.
She is also survived by her siblings: Ynez Perez, David Perez (Sylvia), Manuel Perez (Nancy), Gloria Henderson (Rick), Guadalupe “Lupita” Spaller (late Larry Spaller), and Luis Perez; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Delia was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Perez Sr. and Beatrice M. Perez; her son Manuel Villafranco; and her siblings Adolfo Perez, Gregorio Perez, Maria “Licha” Perez Ponce, Milton Perez Jr., Christina Garza, Carlos Perez, Jose “Joe” Perez, and Hector Perez. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Estella Perez, Ruben Perez, and Pauline Perez, who passed away in childhood.
Delia proudly devoted more than 35 years of service as a bus driver with MV Transportation. She genuinely loved what she did and took immense pride in her work. Known for her dedication, reliability, and compassionate spirit, she excelled in her career and received numerous awards and accolades throughout her years of service. Delia was a resolute worker, a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother who always put her family first.
Beyond her accomplishments, Delia will be fondly remembered for a voice that was unmistakable and recognizable from anywhere — a voice that brought laughter, comfort, and energy into every room. She was the life of the party, the family’s cheerleader, and a constant source of encouragement and joy. Her presence was powerful, her love was loud, and her spirit was unforgettable.
Services will be held at Memory Gardens.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for immediate family, followed by public visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Burial services will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 9:00 a.m., with interment to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Following the burial, close friends and family are invited to gather at the family home.
Delia’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched, the family she anchored, and the love she so freely gave.
