Delmer "Gale" Gibson

Delmer Gale Gibson, age 76 of Corpus Christi, TX passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. His next birthday would have been April, 10. He was able to spend his last days surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born to the late Delmer and Letha Gibson. He lived his whole life in Corpus Christi and knew so many people around town since his elementary school days. He spent his whole working career at the Corpus Christi Caller Times except for the four years he proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and two years in the Reserves. Delmer “Gale” Gibson was an avid classic car enthusiast, a love he shared with his many loyal friends and late wife, Carole Ann Gibson, who preceded him in death seven years ago. He and Carol also shared a deep love of animals and had many beloved pets over the years as well as many animals they “adopted” as their own to care for. He also enjoyed being on his high school reunion committee for Roy Miller High School. He leaves his loving memories to his daughters, Kelley Brown and Nyree Cavazos; sons, John McClain and Glenn McClain; grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Jayson Cavazos, Zachariah, Troy, and Trey McClain; brother, David Gibson; nephews, David and Matthew Gibson; and his fur babies. Family will receive friends at Cage Mills Funeral Directors on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with a celebration of his life beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to PALS Animal Shelter, 1101 Navigation Blvd. Corpus Christi, TX 78407 in his honor.
