Dionicio M. Alvarez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dionicio M. Alvarez, age 64, of Corpus Christi, who left us on February 1, 2026. Born on August 23, 1961, in Corpus Christi, Dionicio grew up to be a man known and loved for his incredible sense of humor. He had a special gift for making people laugh, always ready with a joke and a smile that could brighten any room.

Dionicio found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved singing, fishing, gardening, cooking, and dancing, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite football team, the Texans. Some of the most treasured memories shared by his family are of quietly sneaking up and hearing him sing his favorite songs, moments filled with warmth and happiness that will live on in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ramona Alvarez, and father, Gilberto S. Alvarez. Dionicio’s greatest pride was his family. He leaves behind his loving children, Jennifer Garcia husband Pedro Garcia, Janette Salas husband Eric Salas, and Joshua Alvarez; his dear siblings, Gilbert Alvarez Jr. , Gracie Morales, Carlos Alvarez, and Gloria Hoskins; and his cherished grandchildren, Jenessa Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Jordan Salas, and Jayla Salas. Each of them carries forward his laughter, love, and spirit.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caregivers and family members who supported and cared for Dionicio with kindness and compassion. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose humor and love touched everyone who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his voice, his laughter, and the joy he shared will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
