Dora Alaniz Vera, 83, daughter of Francisco and Teodora Canales Alaniz passed away on March 29, 2014 in Corpus Christi, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on November 21, 1930 in Benavidez, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Florencio Vera, Jr.
Dora is survived by her children, Oscar (Diane) Vera of Pharr, Rachel (Mike) Tally of Universal City, Sylvia (Tom) Gainan and Nora (Michael) Vera of Corpus Christi; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, brother, Paul G. Alaniz; sister, Jovita Palacios and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to always having a big smile one of her favorite past times was dancing and listening to music with her children… a memory that they will forever carry in their hearts.
Family will be receiving friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.memorygardensfuneralhome.com
