

She was born April 1, 1925 in Tynan, Texas to Roque and Bernarda Gonzalez. Duvelia grew up in Mathis, Texas and moved to Corpus Christi in 1949. Duvelia will be remembered for her kindness and lively personality. She was known to visit friends and family in the hospital and help them in their time of need. Duvelia was an excellent cook and would always cook a great meal when guests would visit her.
Duvelia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose De La Torre; children, Martin Marez, Jr.; Sylvia Chavarria and Gracie De La Torre.
She is survived by her children, Roque (Berta) Marez, Joey (Alma) De La Torre, Jesse (Diana) De La Torre, and Rosie Rincon all of Corpus Christi; sister, Rogelia Adams of Corpus Christi; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Texas Adult Day Care and the staff of Angel Bright Hospice.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel-Memorial Holly with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church on Thursday, March 5, 2015, 2015. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens.
