Elda Vasquez

Elda was born on August 8, 1949, in Kingsville, Texas. She later moved to Tierra Grande, Texas. There she met the love of her life Carlos Vasquez Sr. (Carlos Garcia-Vasquez) while working at a small country store in Petronila, Texas. The two got married on July 30, 1976, and began a family together. Elda blessed Carlos with three sons: Carlos Vasquez Jr., Thomas Vasquez, and Rafael Vasquez.

Elda was a dutiful wife and nurturing mother. She was a selfless and compassionate care-giver that moved back to the Corpus Christi area to take care of her mother, Enedina Gaytan, during her last years on Earth. After her mother's passing, she then became the full-time care-giver to her handicapped sister Alma Joyce Gaytan. Elda always put the needs of others in front of her own and was always generous with her time and willing to take care of those in need.

Elda is survived by her sons, Carlos Vasquez Jr., Thomas Vasquez, Ralph Vasquez; and her daughter-in-law, Brandy Lenn Vasquez. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Lozano, Angel 'Joe' Gaytan, Yolanda Beltran, Mandy Chlamon, and Alma Joyce Gaytan. Elda will be remembered for her warm heart, strong faith, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. She will truly be missed by all who knew and love her.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will occur that same day at 2:00 PM with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
