Ellen Scott James, 82, of Corpus Christi, passed away February 28, 2018.She was born in Columbia, South Carolina on December 20, 1935.

Ellen received her high school diploma and was in the nursing profession. She had a passion for fishing, playing bingo and enjoyed being around her grandchildren.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Scott and Dessie Mae Scott; husband, Thomas James; son, Stanley Mailes; sister, Betty Blume and brother, Joe Scott.

She is survived by her children, Debra Holmes, Lawrence Daniel (Neicy), Karen Taylor (Jake), Fernando Mailes, Anthony Mailes, Perry Mailes (Kristine), Robert Mailes (Maria); siblings, Anna Belle Jackson, Dewey Scott, Freddy Scott and Bobby Scott; grandchildren, Nikki Council, Perry Mailes Jr., James Mailes, Jason Wallace, Robert Mailes Jr., Alaynna Mailes, Katrina Mailes, Taliyah Mailes, Thomas Mailes, Sierra Mailes, Serena Mailes, Chyann Mailes, Jasmine Mailes, Desirae Lopez and great grandchildren, Roslyn Council and Braxton Bernard. A host of friends and relatives also survive her.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly.
