

Emma was born to Santiago Uresti and Rafaela Gutierrez Uresti in Benavidez, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her 10 brothers & 9 sisters, her loving husband of 66 years of marriage Elias Cruz Martinez and her much-loved daughter Sylvia Martinez.
She is survived by her beloved five children, Maria Imelda Martinez (Daniel Acuna, Jr.), Elias Martinez, Jr (Carmen), Anna Galvan (Jose Antonio “Gon”), Carlos Martinez (Sylvia), Noe Martinez (Mary). She is also survived by her 98 year old sister Maria Elida Silvas (Tiita Lile).
Momo leaves behind a legacy of her beloved 8 grandchildren Melissa Quintanilla (Andy), Jose Rolando Aguiñaga, Jessica Marie Martinez (James), Noe Abel Martinez (Amy), Daniel Galvan (Rebecca), Javier Galvan, Lisa Marie Martinez, and Sylvia Natalie Martinez (Chris).
Momo adored her 7 great grandchildren, Andrew Ryan Quintanilla (Violet), Victoria Nicole Quintanilla, Elias Anthony Martinez, Mia Genesis Aguiñaga, Cecily Galvan, Mila Galvan, Jessie James Mercedes Roberts and Avery Graef.
Momo treasured and was most proud to live to see her 5th generation, her 6 great-great grandchildren, Aidan, Emma Rose, Ethan & Alexzander Dueñes, Arabella Drew Quintanilla & Ava Hernandez. In addition, she has 3 step-grandchildren, Elaine Herrera, Dominic Quintanilla, Joseph Quintanilla (Shelly), 9 step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews from near and far.
Momo was a beautiful, thoughtful and caring one of a kind woman; she was a stay at home mother who raised her 6 children while her husband Elias worked. She continued to help care & raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren which she loved doing. She enjoyed watching her husband, children, grand, great & great-great grandchildren’s sporting games and any events they had going on, she especially loved watching baseball games which was her favorite sport.
She enjoyed her trips to Minute Maid Park with the family to watch her favorite sports team the Houston Astros. She loved traveling to Monterrey Mexico to see her family. She loved playing Bingo, playing the maquinitas and being around her family at all of their gatherings and she loved to dance. Emma was a devoted lifelong Catholic attending Holy Family Church and a member of the Guadalupanas for over 60 years.
Serving as pallbearers are Jose Rolando Aguiñaga Jr., Noe Abel Martinez, Daniel Galvan, Javier Galvan, Andrew Ryan Quintanilla, Elias Anthony Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers are Jose Antonio Galvan, Andrew (Andy) Quintanilla and James Roberts.
A visitation for Emma will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78411 with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 PM. Continued visitation will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, with Funeral Procession to depart to Holy Family Catholic Church for a funeral mass will on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2509 Nogales St., Corpus Christi, TX 78416 and burial to follow at 11:30 AM at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 2731 Comanche St., Corpus Christi, TX 78408.
